Downtown Senior Session

Senior Session Perfection! I met Dylan and her family a few years back when they were visiting Charleston! I immediately loved working with them and still remember delivering their first gallery to them. Fast forward and Dylan’s family has now put roots down in here in Charleston. I couldn’t be any happier for them.

I’ve had the pleasure of following them through the process of building their gorgeous new home. Yesterday I finally had the chance to welcome them to our beautiful city in person! I so love seeing my clients make their dream of living here a reality, just like I was able to.

I met up with Dylan and her family early in the morning. I knew we wanted to shoot at some of Charleston’s most iconic spots, like Rainbow Row. Especially with it being busy vacation season I know these spots get very busy and are filled with people. I wanted Dylan to have the whole space to herself, and she did!

In addition to quiet streets, getting up early also gave us the “coolest” part of the day. For summer in Charleston that still doesn’t mean much!

Downtown Charleston is hands down my favorite spot to shoot a Senior Session. There is so much variety. So much color. It offers such a unique backdrop but every corner has the potential to offer us a different view. I love taking the opportunity to change scenery easily during a senior session.

My favorite part of a senior session is letting the senior just be “them”. Dylan absolutely glowed and made my job so easy. With her beautiful easy smile and dimples I felt like we were just floating through Downtown snapping away. Before I knew it I had hundreds of images and we were back to where we began.

In addition to including lots of diverse scenery for a senior session, I always love encouraging outfit changes. At least two outfits to give my seniors lots of choices to choose from when they pick their favorites later. Dylan did a classic white dress, which is gorgeous against almost all of Charleston’s backdrops. She also did a sweet pastel dress that complements so many of the colors we see Downtown.

While there are of course plenty of other gorgeous locations here in the Lowcountry, you can see why Downtown reigns as my favorite senior session location.
