New Yorker turned Charleston, SC portrait photographer. Obsessed with the beach, good food, and exploring around town!

Hey! I'm Lindsay

What’s prettier than this backdrop of Spanish moss dripping off the trees? This sweet family standing under it! I met up with the Hopkins family yesterday fora gorgeous extended family session. After having to postpone for weather I hoped and prayed that we would get a gorgeous day to make up for our postponement. Luckily, we did!

Holan a fellow photographer in Tennessee, reached out to me a few weeks back. She was due to be in town with her parents, sister, brother-in-law and sweetest nephew, Ames. She asked if we could set up a photo session. As a photographer herself, it’s rare she has the opportunity with her whole family to be in FRONT of the camera!

Every time I walk this path at Hampton Park I always say, I could shoot a whole session “Here”. For once, I actually did. Between the lighting and the colors this location really was perfect for shooting an entire session. While I often think people feel the needs for lots of different scenery, this one spot serves as a gorgeous backdrop that truly makes its subjects shine!

That light hitting that Spanish moss, get me. Every . Single. Time. Especially early in the morning it just glows with a light and airy feel. Seeing it sway in the breeze just makes everyone feel like they’re stepping off the pages of an old Southern novel.

It’s clear to see that while everyone looked great, little Ames, was truly the star of the show. How could he not be the center of everyone’s attention with those gorgeous big baby blues?

I love that we were able to do an entire session in one spot. No need for walking all over, especially in the summer heat. Although this park has a handful of hidden gems this one is by far my favorite. Additionally, I think it makes as a great option for any extended family session.

Picturing your own family in this setting? I would love to chat!
