New Yorker turned Charleston, SC portrait photographer. Obsessed with the beach, good food, and exploring around town!

Hey! I'm Lindsay

I met up with the Miele family earlier this week to finally meet the newest addition to their family. Sweet Margot is almost 5 months old and after a very busy few months for this family (including dad, Andy playing for Team USA’s Hockey team in the Olympics!) it was time for some updated photos.

I met this family back in 2020 wen Bonnie was just an infant. I instantly fell in love with this little cuties big bright blue eyes in front of my camera. We did a beautiful at home session that time, so this time it was a good opportunity for something different. Hampton Park is always a great selection in my opinion!!

There’s something so whimsical and special about Hampton Park. Even after living here almost six years, I still never grow tired of walking down the path of crepe myrtle trees (fully in bloom now, btw) absolutely covered in Spanish Moss. The way the moss helps filter the sunshine makes for the most beautiful of backdrops. Wether its way in the distance or part of the foal point, there’s just nothing like our Southern Spanish moss.

I often have clients who say they are afraid of the park versus the beach because they want the soft pastel colors the shoreline has to offer. In my opinion, Hampton Park has the same color palette. It offers a beautiful alternative should we get a super windy day and need to make a last minute decision to switch from the beach location.

So often I am asked where my “Favorite” place to shoot is. Truthfully, it changes, constantly. I’ll have a series of beach shoots and deem that my “favorite” of the moment. Currently, I’d have to say this is my “favorite”. What I do love about this location though, is that it’s consistently gorgeous year round. I always know what I can expect even on a cloudy day at this park.

It’s all about the lighting. As with most locations I always suggest meeting early in the morning, or in the evening, not long before sunset. This location does offer us MUCH more flexibility than places like the beach for “Good Lighting”. However, to get that “Glow” that I am after I like to stay on a similar schedule to beach sessions.

Every corner of this park is filled with beauty. These images are just a glimpse of how beautiful your own family session could be here!
