While we may both love different cocktails, bubbly is something we can ALWAYS agree on, for special occasions or just a random weekday. We both agree that our favorite being in the universe is our rescue fur baby, Finley (who may be slightly spoiled). We’re so lucky to live in such a dog-friendly city where he can join us on a trip to the beach or a local brewery. Doesn’t matter where to him, he’s always down for a car ride!
I am a portrait and lifestyle photographer currently living in the Charleston, South Carolina area! I am originally from a small town 90 miles North of Manhattan and while I never ever pictured myself living in South Carolina, one trip to Charleston was all it took to steal my NYC loving heart!
When I am not working you’re likely to find me with my high school sweetheart, who recently changed his title to husband, Allen sipping bubbly Downtown or on the beach.
Living in Charleston being able to shoot outdoors all year long in such a dreamy picturesque city is literally a dream come true. Four years after moving here I still want to pinch myself driving over the Ravanel Bridge going Downtown for a session with my camera sitting on the front seat. Calling the city streets and the beaches here my “workplace” is something I will NEVER grow tired of.
For as long as I can remember I have loved taking photos. While I studied both photography and graphic design in college I took the route I thought was “safer” after college and became a designer. I spent almost a decade doing graphic design for various companies but always came back to the camera. Whether we needed just the right photo for a design project or a friend needed some photos to put on their save-the-date I was always pulling out my camera. Suddenly my weekends started to fill up with sessions during the spring and the fall in Upstate New York.
I often get asked by vacationing clients where they should dine while they are here. Here are a few of my top favorite spots!
If you’re looking for classic traditional Lowcountry faire, hands down try Poogan’s. As a girl coming from the North that didn’t think I liked biscuits but they changed my mind! This is where I also fell in love with grits! Who knew this NY Bagel and Pizza loving girl could fall in love with Southern cooking so easily? The story behind Poogan’s is absolutely adorable too!
This is one of my favorite spots to sip bubbly Downtown. This is my top recommendation for all proposal sessions to go get a glass and celebrate post-engagement. Centrally located with an amazing view of the Ravanel bridge it’s a wonderful place to take in the sights of our gorgeous city.
This is one of my favorite spots to stop for a latte on my way to or from a session. It’s also a great place to bring my laptop and get work done with WiFi and outlets. They have a full menu of delicious foods all day and it’s a really cool atmosphere being located in an old cigar factory.
